For history and military buffs a must see is the Royal Australian Infantry Corps Museum, where you can admire a world class collection of infantry weapons and military memorabilia. The Singleton Historical Society and Museum at Burdekin Park holds an impressive collection of Aboriginal, Convict, Pioneer and rural artefacts – housed in the old gaol house. Wander through the breathtaking Sisters of Mercy Convent. Tour the Chapel, gardens and the Georgian cottage museum where you will learn about the pioneering Sisters of Mercy who arrived from Ireland in 1875. Take a drive to the aquatic paradise of Lake St Clair designed to offer a premium outdoor leisure facility, popular for all water activities and a fisherman’s delight. NSW State Fisheries and local fishing clubs make regular releases into the lake of Australian Bass and Golden and Silver Perch fingerlings ensuring Lake St Clair remains a mecca for the fishing enthusiasts. Lake St Clair is nestled among the undulating hills at the foot of the Mt Royal Range. The whole family will be entertained with swimming, power boating, sailing and water-skiing. There are powered camping sites and unlimited bush camping plus electric and wood fired BBQ’s, hot showers, toilets and a boat launching ramp. Entry and camping fees apply and bookings are required.

The Australian Wife Carrying Titles is a key event held as part of the annual Singleton Show attracting local, national and international competitors. The program is extensive and includes all of the traditional country festival activities, rodeo, ute muster, dog high jump, wood chopping, team cattle penning and carnival rides.
This region produces a cornucopia of the finest produce. Discover the delights of citrus, olives and market gardens that thrive here in the rich soil.
